British woman, 85, killed after storm at Portuguese campsite

An 85-year-old British woman has died after an extreme wind storm struck a campsite in Portugal.

Two others were seriously injured and three slightly injured at Albufeira Camping Park in the south of Portugal, Faro’s district commander for rescue operations told a press conference.

At a hotel in Albufeira, which was also hit by the storm at the end of the morning, 23 people were slightly injured, and four were taken to Faro Hospital, he added.
