The wedding flowers were inspired by the landscape surrounding Blue Hill at Stone Barns, blending olive, petal pink, and white. David Austin climbing roses framed the courtyard doorway leading into the restaurant, blending the ceremony and reception design with the landscape. Morgan’s bridesmaids chose their own dresses that complemented the wedding day design.

We chose to get married in New York, where we met, and many of our guests traveled from Texas, Alabama, and Mississippi to celebrate with us, including my87-year-oldd grandma (Mimi)! Our favorite part of the night was getting everyone out on the dance floor, including Mimi! Our final song played by the band was “Sweet Home Alabama” because we split our time living between Birmingham and New York. I must mention the amazing food that the Blue Hill team prepared for us. It was a highlight of the wedding and a major reason we chose the venue. I still dream about the poached halibut, and months later,r people are still telling us how incredible the food was – from the cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres like the mushroom donut and oysters with rhubarb granita to the grass-fed beef at dinner cooked two ways and served with the freshest vegetables from the property. It wasn’t just the best wedding food we’ve had but truly one of the best meals we’ve ever enjoyed. We can’t wait to go back for anniversaries and future celebrations!

Wilson planned the most special surprise proposal on the roof of his West Village apartment, the day we moved into our new apartment and first home together! He thoughtfully coordinated every detail,l including a photographer to capture the moment, who led us on a short shoot around the neighborhood, and when we got back to the apartment, we were greeted by our families who had flown in and my closest friends. We all made our way to dinner at Pastis, one of our favorite spots, followed by drinks at a nearby bar that he’d rented out to celebrate with more of our NYC crew. It was the perfect day,y and I felt so lucky and loved!!

The culinary experience was one of the highlights of the day, a four-course menu created by Blue Hill’s Michelin-starred team, celebrating spring. Menu: First Course: First of the asparagus, smoked cheese, strawberry sofrito, paired with Clos Ste. Magdeleine “Méditerranée Blanc,” Provence, 2023 Second Course: Halibut with spring vegetables, paired with Château de Pierreclos “Au Grand Bussière,” Saint-Véran, Burgundy, 2022 Third Course: Grass-fed beef with Eight Row flint corn polenta and mushrooms, paired with Château Brane-Cantenac “Margaux de Brane,” Bordeaux, 2020 Dessert: Blue Hill wedding cake with chocolate chiffon, strawberry, and Stone Barns honey During cocktail hour, guests experienced a bakery tasting with house-milled sourdough, focaccia, pickled vegetables, cured meats, soft-ripened cheeses, and seasonal berries. Passed hors d’oeuvres included oysters with rhubarb granita, spring pea and caviar bites, and Blue Hill’s signature mushroom donuts. Signature cocktails included the First Blush (cognac, strawberry, and rose) and The Beet Goes On (tequila, badger flame beet, ginger, and IPA)

From the planner: “One of the standout decisions that was made to elevate the guest table experience was to incorporate floral-pattern linens. Building off Zeke’s impeccable floral design, the linens brought a romantic vibe into the reception space. It is always fun when the couple wants to lean into patterns and textures!” Florist’s Reflection: “This wedding truly felt like stepping into a romantic garden. To have the privilege of working at Blue Hill, one of my all-time favorite properties, is always a great starting point. The natural setting, with its lush gardens and dark stone walls, created the perfect backdrop for soft cream and blush pink florals. So much of my work is about shaping an environment, creating a feeling that unfolds as you move through it, and this day captured that beautifully. The climbing rose bushes we planted in those antique urns at the ceremony looked as if they’d been growing there for years, as though the space had simply been waiting for this moment. Honestly, the best part of the day was seeing Morgan so happy. That kind of joy is contagious. My team and I had the best time working in an environment that felt both sweet and relaxed, and I really think that energy comes through in the photos.” -Zeke, Westerman Design

The couple experienced an amazing 3-day weekend with a more intimate Rehearsal Dinner at Hotel Chelsea and a Welcome Dinner open to their guests at 632 on Hudson, leading up to their wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, which included the restaurant’s Main Dining Room, Bakery,y and Terrace for cocktails.
