Three Days of Modern Romance at Villa Pizzo

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]We chose a classic, elegant, and timeless color palette for our wedding, aiming for a look that felt natural and effortless as if it had always belonged. For the flowers, we went with white and green, creating a fresh and sophisticated feel. To complement this, we added black and silver accents to the tables, plates, chairs, and décor, adding a touch of refinement without overpowering the simplicity. The colors flowed seamlessly with the stunning backdrop of Lake Como, enhancing the natural beauty of the surroundings while creating an atmosphere of understated elegance.

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]My vision for the wedding was to create something truly unique, timeless, and elegant, combining classic beauty with a modern twist. The space felt like an enchanted garden, with lush greenery and delicate white flowers suspended from above, creating a romantic, dreamlike atmosphere. This vision came to life through cascading floral arrangements, sleek black reflective tables, and warm candlelight that added an intimate and luxurious touch. The attention to detail, from the crystal glassware to the soft lighting, ensured that the ambiance perfectly embodied the sophisticated and elegant celebration we had always imagined.[/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”] It was a perfect day at Lake Muskoka, Canada, where both of our families were staying together for our annual family vacation. The house we were in was right on the lake, providing the most picturesque setting. Blake casually mentioned that we were going to head out for drinks, so I started getting ready, completely unaware that this day would become the most unforgettable of my life. As I stepped out of my room, Blake said we needed to stop by the dock before we left. We hopped on the golf cart and rode down to the lake. As soon as we arrived, I saw a trail of rose petals leading down the dock to a stunning setup of flowers, facing the water. At the end of the dock, there was a sign that read, “Marry Me.” I instantly burst into tears as the song “Only Love” played softly in the background. Blake got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him. Without hesitation, I said yes! It was a truly magical moment, surrounded by beauty, love, and the peaceful setting of the lake.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]As food lovers, we wanted the dining experience at our wedding to be a highlight, so we indulged in a luxurious three-hour tasting to select the perfect menu. We crafted a unique three-course meal that began with a burrata cheese soup, topped with semi-dried tomatoes and basil bread crumbles—an incredibly flavorful and creative antipasto. For the primo, we chose handmade maccheroncini pasta, tossed in a rich Parmesan sauce with summer truffle, while the secondo was a delicate seabass cooked in marine salt, accompanied by a refreshing orange and fennel salad. Our guests were blown away by the exquisite dishes, and while weddings usually offer multiple choices, we felt that everyone would be just as thrilled with the selections we had carefully curated—and they absolutely were![/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Our flowers and décor were designed to feel like a natural extension of the space, with an emphasis on elegance and class. For the ceremony, we added grass to the dock and created a stunning three-arch setup, with the outer arches draped in greenery and the middle arch fully covered in white flowers. At the cocktail hour, modern white furniture with green velvet pillows added a fresh, stylish touch, and I loved the unique shapes of the chairs and couches. The reception followed this theme, with floral chandeliers and table arrangements as the focal point, letting the flowers truly shine.[/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]One of my absolute favorite moments was the creation of our wedding cake. When I mentioned the cake presentation to my planner, I never imagined we’d actually be making it during the reception. It turned out to be one of the most enjoyable and engaging parts of the night, with everyone getting involved. It was a delightful surprise and a perfect way to add a touch of spontaneity and fun to the evening.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]A spontaneous highlight, which felt as though it was planned, was the mid-dinner dance party that broke out between courses. Guests thought it was a perfectly orchestrated part of the evening, but it was entirely unplanned! It was such a joyful and unexpected moment, allowing everyone to keep the energy high and avoid waiting between courses.

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]While everyone was enjoying themselves on the dance floor, the cigar bar opened up outside, adding to the excitement. Guests stepped out to enjoy cigars while also witnessing our live painter bring to life a beautiful painting of us from the ceremony. It added an extra layer of fun that made the evening even more memorable.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]One of my most cherished moments was walking down the aisle with both my mom and dad by my side. Traditionally, it’s the father who plays this role, but my mom has been my everything since childhood—my best friend and constant support. Including her in this special moment felt perfect, as both my parents gave me away together. It was a deeply personal way to honor their presence in my life.[/field]
