Anna Faris Reveals ‘Scary Movie 6’ Cut Her Melania Trump Takedown: ‘I Was Always Pushing for Cindy to Be Classic MAGA’
Anna Faris revealed in a new interview with Dexerto that her blatant takedown of Melania Trump was cut out of “Scary Movie,” the sixth installment in the long-running spoof franchise that recently topped the box office with a $54 million debut. The actor said she “was always pushing for Cindy to be classic MAGA rabbit hole” in the movie, adding: “The kind of person that you saw outside of the Walmart during quarantine that was raising some kind of crazy-ass fuss.”
“There was a moment where I am getting wasted, like so drunk… I am in my truck and I look into the rearview mirror and I say, ‘Be best, Cindy Campbell. Be best,’” Faris said about one moment during filming in which she shaded Melania Trump and her “Be Best” campaign. “That didn’t make it, but I liked my little winking there.”
“You know, what are you gonna do? You gonna be mad at Cindy?” Faris added. “I’m in a movie that is truly the most offensive movie ever made, and I’m the lead of it. And I participate in offensive ideas. I think I can kind of do anything. It liberated me.”
Faris sat out the fifth “Scary Movie” and returned for the new installment opposite original cast members Marlon Wayans, Regina Hall and Shawn Wayans. The Wayans family created the “Scary Movie” franchise but were booted from it by Harvey and Bob Weinstein after the success of “Scary Movie 2” prompted them to ask for better deals for a third movie. They were rejected.
“What they did is between them and God,” Marlon Wayans recently told Variety. “I don’t applaud that type of behavior, but I can’t hold hate and hurt in my heart if I want to evolve.”
“Scary Movie” is now playing in theaters nationwide.
