A Field-Picked Forest Wedding Rooted in Minimalist Countryside Beauty

Our wedding was very special because we wanted it to tell our story. We love neutral colors because they bring us a sense of peace, and green was the perfect accent because we adore nature. Every detail reflected who we are, including our logo, which featured a maple leaf. Why a maple leaf? It was the first gift Diego gave Sofía. He was traveling in Vermont, and during a casual conversation, I mentioned I’d be happy with just a pine needle. He took that comment to heart, found a beautiful leaf, and carefully brought it back in a little box. For us, that leaf represents how it all began: with a simple but deeply meaningful gesture. We wanted our wedding to tell that story—and it did.

“Milagros” gown by Vera Wang. A-line silhouette, Chantilly lace, strapless neckline with removable long sleeves. I loved it—it felt romantic and timeless, with a vintage touch but a modern cut. It made me feel so special and beautiful. My plain, two-tiered tulle veil was perfect for walking down the aisle veiled—I felt like a ’90s bride straight out of the movies I watched growing up.

Custom-made suit by Sotto Sartoria, Mexico City. He chose every detail—fabric, cut, stitching. The shirt had his initials embroidered.

The food was spectacular—Penzi catered the event. The dishes had a contemporary presentation but felt like comfort food. First course: Heart of palm ceviche and portobello stuffed with prosciutto and roasted tomatoes. Second course: Roasted red and yellow bell pepper cream (guests loved it—some asked for seconds!). Third course: Beef filet in three-Chile sauce or red wine and Chile Morita sauce. Guests were welcomed with margaritas, mezcal cocktails, and mojitos. Wine (red and white) was Mexican. Desserts were paired with carajillos, followed by an open bar from Vineira for dancing all night.

Angélica Solache completely understood my vision—I wanted something unique, green, and countryside-inspired. I told her, “As if you picked them from a field.” All in neutral tones—it came out incredible. We used small vases with single or minimal flowers so each bloom could be appreciated in detail.

Instead of a traditional wedding cake, guests enjoyed a fourth course: Vanilla crème Brulé and deconstructed tres leches cake.

Reception entrance: An explosion of energy and happiness—it was magical seeing all our friends and family, and feeling the love behind every detail carefully brought to life by all the amazing vendors.

Doctor-themed surprise: My friends organized a hilarious “happening” dressed in surgical scrubs, carrying signs that read Mrs. Vidales and photos of us, while “Llamado de Emergencia” by Daddy Yankee played—because I’m a doctor!

Smoke blasters moment: We lit smoke blasters during “La Intuición” by Karlo & Chusi to hype the party—our guests were thrilled!
