A ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ Star Narrowly Escapes Death in ‘Pitfall’s Red Band Trailer [Exclusive]

If 2025 or even 2026 were the years that you said you wanted to get outside more and maybe head out on that months-long thru-hike you’ve been dreaming of, perhaps you should shield your eyes from this one. Today, Collider is thrilled to unveil the official Red Band teaser for James Kondelik’s (A Simple Payday) Pitfall, and it’s a doozy. Just in time for its screening at this year’s ScreamFest, the title is bound to make your jaw drop and force you to second guest your next trip to the great outdoors. Featuring leading performances from Final Destination: Bloodlines’ Richard Harmon and The Pope’s Exorcist’s Alexandra Essoe, the eerie vibes of an unseen killer hiding amongst the trees are made all the more terrifying thanks to the gut-wrenching performances of the stellar ensemble.

Heading out to the wild for a trip down memory lane, a group of friends drives up to a trailhead during the opening seconds of the Pitfall teaser. From the jump, it’s obvious that they should turn around and absolutely not proceed down the trail, as the sign where the map should be is instead covered in missing persons posters. This alarm bell only dials up louder when we hear one of the group’s members reveal that over 2000 people have gone missing in these very woods over the last decade. Nope. As they begin their trek, we see snippets of the horrors they’ll face before Harmon’s Lars narrowly evades a slow and torturous death by way of a hunters trap known as a pitfall.

Joining Harmon and Essoe in their harrowing march through the wilderness is a cast that also includes the talents of Randy Couture (The Hard Way), Marshall Williams (How to Build a Better Boy), Jordan Claire Robbins (The Umbrella Academy), and Matt Hamilton (The Baby My Husband Lied About).

What’s ‘Pitfall’ About?

As one could gather from the Red Band teaser, Pitfall is about a group of friends who go on a backpacking trip and inadvertently find themselves up against something incredibly sinister. But it’s not as simple as that. Per the official synopsis:

“When a young man becomes separated from his friends in the woods, he plunges into a ten-foot pit lined with spikes, impaling his leg and leaving him helpless. As reality sinks in and his situation grows dire, he realizes the fall wasn’t an accident.”

It sounds like, despite dodging the pitfall in the teaser, Harmon’s character or someone else will fall victim to the spiked trap down the line, and maybe one or more of his friends set him up for his brutal fate.
