A Mediterranean-Inspired Santa Barbara Wedding Bursting with Terracotta Tones and Summer Florals

Jessica and Saba’s celebration radiated a joyful, Mediterranean-meets-California energy with a blend of coastal romance, terracotta warmth, and lush, summer-bright florals. The overall vibe was playful, sun-kissed, and transportive, turning the Santa Barbara coastline into a riot of color and texture reminiscent of summers along the Mediterranean Sea.

Jessica and Saba met as undergraduates at UCSB, not realizing they’d later cross paths with their planner, who attended UCSB at the same time. Their relationship carried them across the country for law school on the East Coast, in different states, but committed throughout. They returned to the West Coast during their engagement, choosing Santa Barbara, the place where it all began, as the backdrop for their wedding day.

Jessica’s bridesmaids wore a mix of pastel gowns in pink, yellow, blush, and her twin sister/maid of honor, wore blue. The palette gave a fresh, modern, and celebratory feel. Each carried bright, textural bouquets that tied the palette together.

The day was overflowing with food moments, literally. Cocktail hour featured vibrant displays of fresh fruit, passed appetizers, and stations, including a made-to-order sushi bar. Dinner highlighted Persian cuisine in honor of Jessica’s heritage, followed by an abundant Persian fruit and dessert bar. Late-night bites closed the evening, ensuring guests were well-fed from start to finish.

The florals were the heartbeat of the day–lush, joyful, and overflowing. The ceremony featured a vibrant aisle lined with pink blooms leading to an explosion of fuchsia bougainvillea, coral peonies, golden ranunculus, and soft blush accents framing the chuppah with the ocean beyond. The warm terracotta of the venue’s plaza served as the grounding element for the overall palette. For the reception, the team flipped the chuppah into an Ibiza-inspired DJ cabana, keeping the structure as the focal point but transforming it with rattan lanterns, warm candlelight, and vivid floral styling. A four-piece bar stretched across an entire wall, layered with lemons, lamps, floral clusters, matchbooks, and textured accessories.

The dessert experience centered around an abundant fruit-forward display, including a blueberry-topped tart dusted with powdered sugar. Jessica and Saba cut a small, heart-shaped vintage cake for themselves.

Jessica’s twin sister Jennifer was her “something blue.”
