Per The Gathering Co., the design was driven by a balance of bold and feminine details-from the soft white florals to the modern gold lamps that adorned the dinner tables.

Zach completely surprised Hailey with a romantic proposal at sunset on the historic Spanish Steps—an elegant feature nestled within a charming park in Washington, DC’s historic Kalorama neighborhood. Surrounded by golden light and timeless beauty, it was a moment they’ll never forget.

Hailey chose a modern romantic gown featuring an a-line skirt, gathered floral design on the bodice, and a slit to add a bit of drama. The perfect balance of softness and modern edge.

At the black-tie affair, guests dined on roasted chicken and tender beef, served with seasonal vegetables and red and white wines. Signature cocktails flowed throughout the evening, including classic martinis, champagne, and indulgent espresso martinis for a bold, sophisticated touch. The hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour were also a crowd favorite.

The reception space embraced a modern, minimalist elegance with sleek black accents, crisp white florals, and warm candlelight. Delicate arrangements of roses, ranunculus, orchids, and tulips were styled in airy, artistic clusters, paired with gold lighting and crystal-clear glassware for a refined, romantic feel. Soft glow from pillar candles and slender taper flames added a timeless ambiance, perfectly complementing the chic black and white palette.

Instead of a wedding cake, Hailey and Zach opted to do a variety of personal-sized desserts thoughtfully arranged on gold trays. Guests enjoyed an assortment of rich chocolate mousse bites, banana pudding shooters topped with whipped cream, and petite pies. This thoughtfully curated spread blended classic comfort with sophisticated presentation, creating a delightful finish to the evening.
