Surrounded by sweeping countryside in New York’s Hudson Valley, Jessica and Josh’s wedding became a poetic ode to botany and the natural world. Their venue, Troutbeck, unfolded across a stunning 18th-century estate that set a timeless backdrop. With guidance from their planner, Jessica embraced bold, fresh design ideas. “The result was everything we hoped for — fun, light, and summery, but still elevated and sophisticated,” the couple explained.

When Jessica and Josh first met, they were both working at a PR firm in New York. Jess’s team was moved, placing her cubicle directly across from Josh’s. They quickly became office friends and, before long, each other’s office crush. After a few months, Josh finally worked up the courage to ask her out for a drink, and the rest is history. While living in Park Slope, they grew to love their morning walks through Prospect Park. One sunny Saturday in December, Josh suggested they head out for their usual loop. Behind the scenes, he had coordinated with both of their parents to meet them in the park, where he proposed. After spending the morning celebrating with their families, they drove to Wildflower Farms for the weekend to soak in the joy of being newly engaged.

After guests had finished cocktails and oysters on the lawn, local-inspired fare included Hudson Valley steelhead trout, braised beef short ribs, and house-made lasagna. Meals were paired with the couple’s signature drinks: The Walled Garden and the Troutbeck Manhattan.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]What began as a classic palette of greens and whites gradually leaned into the summer season, opening up into cheerful yellows, purples, and peach tones. The flowers felt soft and bright, but never overdone. The allium-lined aisle created a sculptural pathway, as guests held parasols and fans to ease the afternoon sun. Dinner was set outdoors with an elevated summer dinner-party feel of rattan textures and light woods.[/field]

Along with the traditional wedding cake, guests were treated to cherry hand pies and an ice cream truck!

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]They incorporated a few traditional Jewish elements into their celebration, finding a thoughtful balance between Josh’s Jewish upbringing and Jessica’s Catholic one. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The couple especially cherished their private exchange of vows, noting, “We probably wouldn’t have made them as personal if we were reading them in front of everyone, so it was a really intimate and special moment just for the two of us.”[/field]
