What started as a 30th birthday getaway to Riviera Maya turned into the surprise of a lifetime. On the evening of January 4th, 2023, we took a sunset walk on the beach at UNICO 2087 before dinner, when a “staff member” offered to take our photo. After a few shots, she asked us to turn and look out at the ocean, and that’s when I saw his shadow drop to one knee. My heart stopped, my feet felt frozen in the sand, and I immediately burst into tears. That “staff member” was actually a photographer he had secretly hired to capture it all. Everything was so thoughtful and beautifully planned, it felt like something out of a dream. I truly didn’t think the proposal was going to happen on this tr;p, I was completely surprised. He pulled it off perfectly, and saying yes to forever with my best friend was the most magical way to start our vacation.

The dining experience was a true highlight of the celebration—a style buffet designed to impress with both elegance and variety. Curated gourmet stations featured fresh seafood, premium cuts of meat, refined vegetarian options, and globally inspired dishes, all beautifully presented with impeccable attention to detail. The open bar offered handcrafted cocktails, a selection of fine wines, and premium spirits, creating a culinary experience that felt elevated, seamless, and perfectly suited for a sophisticated seaside celebration.
