A Summer Celebration with a Black-Tie Cowboy Twist and Western Romance

The bride wanted lots of color for this summer wedding! Her bridesmaids’ dresses and florals incorporated yellows, oranges, blues and greens. For the table settings she leaned into more earthy browns and taupe to let the florals shine!

Our wedding celebrated the rugged romance of the West with a black-tie cowboy twist—an elegant mix of refined details and playful ranch-style flair. Every moment was designed to feel both timeless and deeply personal, blending sophistication with adventure and the western environment.

In the northern part of Norway, along the dramatic cliffs of Lofoten, we rode horses beneath the midnight sun. Griffin dropped to one knee overlooking the endless sea, and Kirsten said “yes” before we braved a three-hour dinghy ride through an arctic storm—an unforgettable adventure that set the tone for our life together.

Kirsten’s gown was a blend of classic romance and modern detailing, perfectly echoing the landscape around us. She discovered it after months of searching and knew instantly it was “the one” when she slipped it on.
The bridesmaids wore chic, understated dresses in earthy tones that harmonized with the natural surroundings. Each silhouette was chosen to feel effortless yet elegant, allowing the women to shine as individuals while complementing the overall vision.
The groomsmen brought western polish to the black-tie look with sharp suits paired with cowboy boots and bolo ties. It was a playful nod to the wedding theme that balanced sophistication with personality.

Guests enjoyed a farm-to-table inspired menu that highlighted fresh, local ingredients with a refined twist. Signature cocktails paired with late-night bites kept the energy high well into the evening.

Our décor blended natural textures with refined touches—lush greenery, seasonal blooms, and soft candlelight against rustic wood. The result was a romantic, elevated western atmosphere that felt both intimate and breathtaking.
We skipped the traditional wedding cake and instead treated guests to a playful affogato bar. Served from a vintage green ice cream truck, it became one of the most talked-about (and photographed!) details of the evening.
Our ceremony was set to timeless strings that carried a sense of intimacy and reverence. The reception playlist balanced classics with high-energy favorites, creating a joyful, dance-filled celebration under the stars.
As we shared our first kiss as husband and wife, horses ran past in a breathtaking moment straight out of a movie. Cowboys then surprised guests with a live horse show, complete with a cattle dog skillfully rounding them up—an unforgettable spectacle that left everyone in awe.
A mechanical bull stole the show at our reception, bringing out laughter and friendly competition. From our little nieces and nephews to Griffin’s grandfather, everyone took a turn, making it one of the most talked-about highlights of the night.
Instead of a single-day affair, we hosted a four-day celebration that brought together family and friends from every chapter of our lives. The extended time gave everyone the chance to truly connect, turning our wedding into an immersive, joy-filled reunion.
