A Timeless Tuscan Celebration Infused With Armenian Heritage at Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte

The bride Svetlana had always dreamed of a wedding that felt timeless, elegant, and effortlessly romantic. When choosing the wedding palette, she wanted something that would blend seamlessly with the breathtaking Tuscan landscape yet still feel luxurious and refined. She found her answer in a combination of soft whites, muted greens, and touches of gold—a palette that spoke of purity, nature, and classic sophistication.

Svetlana and Yervant’s wedding at the historic Villa Corsini a Mezzomonte was a seamless blend of Armenian heritage and Tuscan elegance, a celebration where tradition met timeless Italian beauty. With the expert guidance of Natascia Zignani Weddings, they envisioned a day that honored their deep-rooted traditions while embracing the beauty of the place they had fallen in love with—Tuscany, with its rolling hills, timeless charm, and romantic atmosphere. The reception embraced a warm, intimate, and elegant aesthetic, with golden candlelit tables, delicate floral arrangements, and subtle nods to Armenian culture.

Svetlana chose a timeless and elegant classic white wedding gown by renowned designer Edem Couture, a perfect reflection of her sophisticated style. The gown’s clean lines and exquisite tailoring highlighted her grace, while a striking detail stole the show: a long, ethereal transparent cape adorned with a stunning gemstone brooch, adding a touch of modern glamour and drama to the ensemble. Completing her bridal look, Svetlana slipped into a pair of exquisite Aquazzura shoes.

Galateo Ricevimenti catering offered a delightful mix of Tuscan flavors, starting with Burrata Gnudi and zucchini flowers, hearty options like Beef & Lamb and Tuscan pork fillet with truffle potatoes. The meal was paired with fine Tuscan wines, creating a perfect blend of local tradition and elegance.

Simone Bertini, the floral designer, made white roses the heart of his arrangements, symbolizing the purity of new beginnings and the enduring promise of everlasting love. To elevate the reception’s ambiance, Simone introduced delicate touches of gold—from the refined chairs to the understated table accents—adding warmth and richness that harmonized beautifully with the softness of the florals.

The wedding dessert was a classic Italian Millefoglie, layered with light Chantilly cream, almond brittle, and topped with fresh strawberries and wild berries. Svetlana and Yervant cut the cake in the enchanting gardens, their guests watching lovingly from the villa’s windows. The celebration continued with a dazzling champagne tower, where glasses were filled with bubbling champagne, sparking joy and celebration.

In Armenian wedding traditions, one charming custom involves the groom placing the bride’s shoes on her feet, symbolizing his commitment to care for and support her throughout their marriage. This intimate moment often replaces the modern “first look,” as it is considered a meaningful gesture of love and responsibility. The act is sometimes accompanied by playful traditions, such as the bride’s family hiding the shoes and the groom having to “ransom” them with gifts or money, adding a touch of humor and joy to the celebration. This tradition beautifully blends symbolism, love, and cultural heritage, making it a cherished part of Armenian weddings.

During the ceremony, the couple took part in the beautiful Armenian tradition of wearing crowns, known as “khoyt” or “crowns of unity.” These crowns, often intricately designed, symbolize the couple’s roles as king and queen of their new family, as well as their equal partnership and shared responsibility in marriage.
