Barbara Palvin Leans Into Quiet Luxury Summer Style With Miu Miu Loafers at Cannes Film Festival 2025

Barbara Palvin brought a dose of breezy-but-polished summer ease to the Hotel Martinez on Tuesday, en route to the “Grande Envie” Miu Miu lunch at Hotel Belles Rives during the Cannes Film Festival, stepping out in a head-to-toe Miu Miu look anchored by a pair of classic leather loafers.

She kicked off the look with Miu Miu’s boxy trucker jacket in a cool slate‑blue twill — its earthy brown corduroy collar and matching lining providing the tonal counterpoint. The jacket’s right‑chest logo patch nodded to that same chocolate hue, mirroring the trim on her handkerchief‑style crop top, which finished in a pointed hem and featured a subtle V‑shaped cutout at center front.

The model and wife of actor Dylan Sprouse paired the boxy top with crispy mid-rise white shorts with a tailored fit, cinched at the waist by a slim brown leather belt with gleaming gold hardware. A tonal racing stripe ran down each side of the shorts, nodding to the jacket’s collar and lining, and she carried a lightweight scarf in the same brown‑camel shade for a tonal finish.

The ensemble truly hinged on her footwear: Miu Miu’s updated penny loafers, rendered in smooth black leather with a softly rounded toe and the label’s gold‑embossed logo stamped across the apron strap. Visible tonal topstitching and a low stacked heel lent structure and lift, while the sockless styling secured the look’s easy‑going, early‑summer spirit.

Beauty-wise, Palvin kept things fresh. Makeup artist Tobi Henney layered on a dewy base and soft pink lips for natural luminosity, and hairstylist Owen Gould swept her hair into a loose ponytail, letting delicate wisps frame her face for an overall casual but polished look.

Palvin’s relationship with Miu Miu traces back to her early career when she made her runway debut for Prada in Paris, 2010, quickly becoming a fixture at Miu Miu shows. The brand’s Iconic Shoes line, which includes these loafers, riffs on the midcentury American penny loafer — originally subverted by prep‑school students tucking a penny into the saddle for good luck — updating it with supple leathers, tonal stitching and that signature gold‑embossed logo for a quiet‑luxury twist.

The 2025 Cannes Film Festival concludes on Saturday. Films premiering at this year’s festival include Wes Anderson’s “The Phoenician Scheme,” Julia Ducournau’s “Alpha” and Lynne Ramsay’s “Die, My Love.”
