Preamble
TOUCHDOWN! Rams 7-7 Lions 1:11, 1st quarter
A beauty from Goff to Williams for 25 yards on 3rd and long brings up 1st down at LA’s 40-yard line.
Early window roundup
The full review of the early scores and those Chiefs missing the postseason. A bit of revenge for Josh Allen? Yep.
TOUCHDOWN! Rams 7-7 Lions 2:44, 1st quarter
The Rams level it up with an easy rush up the middle. An incredibly gutsy call on 4th down comes up big. Puka Nacua is just so reliable in man coverage.
It’s good! Seahawks 3-3 Colts 0:51, 1st quarter
Rams 0-7 Lions 2:58, 1st quarter
LA going for it on 4th and 8 around midfield. So aggressive. And Stafford throws it to the best receiver in the NFL in contested catches. Puka Nacua comes down with a catch in traffic to convert for a 1st down. Colby Parkinson then takes it to the five-yard line on a 24-yard catch and run. Rams so close to levelling this one.
It’s GOOD! Seahawks 0-3 Colts 3:41, 1st quarter
Another 3rd down is up but Rivers throws it well short of Pittman and out of bounds. Indy have the lead though.
Seahawks 0-0 Colts 4:31, 1st quarter
Rivers drops back and finds a 1st down with a throw to Michael Pittman for five yards.
TOUCHDOWN! Saints 0-7 Panthers 6:30, 1st quarter
Carolina make a nice start as they attempt to take hold at the top of the NFC South.
Broncos 0-3 Packers 7:01, 1st quarter
The kicker boots one on his old stomping ground to give Green Bay the early lead.
Seahawks 0-0 Colts 8:19, 1st quarter
Jonathan Taylor picks up a 1st down for Indy. Rivers is 1/5 for 12 yards so far. As expected.
TOUCHDOWN! 49ers 7-0 Titans 7:48, 1st quarter
TOUCHDOWN! Rams 0-7 Lions 9:04, 1st quarter
WHAT! Aidan Hutchinson picks off Stafford! And unfortunately pulls the Cristiano Ronaldo celebration. You can’t have everything. Hutchinson reads the pass and dives in to pick it off. He runs it back 58 yards and the Lions are in the red zone. Next play Goff hits St Brown in the back of the end zone. The Rams were knocking on the door and in an instant are behind. Crazy.
Rams 0-0 Lions 9:04, 1st quarter
The Stafford/Adams connection is working well on the opening drive for LA. Two plays and 35 yards moves the Rams into the red zone.
No GOOD! Rams 0-0 Lions 11:12, 1st quarter
Jake Bates misses a 43-yarder to leave this one scoreless.

The headline is Kansas City are out of the playoffs after Buffalo’s huge comeback to beat New England. Drama!
Chiefs miss playoffs for first time since 2014
PICK! Chiefs 13-16 Chargers, final score
Chiefs commit a killer five-yard penalty to move Harrison Butker’s field goal attempt back. Garnder Minshew is in at QB for KC. He drops back. PICK!!!
Jaguars 48-20 Jets, final score
Trevor Lawrence shredded the Jets with five touchdowns and a rushing score.
Texans 40-20 Cardinals, final score
Houston march on towards January football and are one of the steps to eliminating the Chiefs from the playoffs. Meanwhile Patrick Mahomes looks like he is done for the day as he lies on the turf with an injury to a knee.
Bears 31-3 Browns, final score
Chicago move up to the sixth seed as it stands.
BILLS WIN after trailing 21-0!
Patriots 31-35 Bills, final score
The comeback is complete! Buffalo pull off a sensational comeback and keep the race alive for the AFC East. Incredible.
Patriots 31-35 Bills 1:51, 4th quarter
Maye misses a throw on 3rd down. Are they going for it? Yes. 4th and 5. Maye holds on to it for an age and nothing opes up. He chucks it to no one. Joey Bosa makes the play by biding his time then pouncing to pressure Maye. Game very nearly over after the turnover on downs. New England’s defense need a huge play.
TOUCHDOWN! Texans 40-20 Cardinals 3:09, 4th quarter
TOUCHDOWN! Giants 21-29 Commanders 3:43, 4th quarter
Bengals 0-24 Ravens, final score
Baltimore apply the pressure to Pittsburgh at the top of the AFC North. Job, very easily, done. Bengals are eliminated from the playoffs.
Patriots 31-35 Bills 2:43, 4th quarter
Buffallo running the clock down with Cook smashing against the rocks of New England’s defensive line. And the Patriots force a quick punt. Excellent from Carlton Davis to read the swing pass and swarm on Ty Johnson before the line to gain.
Patriots 31-35 Bills 5:08, 4th quarter
The air has completely escaped the balloon for New England. Hunter Henry drops one on 3rd down to bring out the punt team for the Patriots. It wasn’t the easiest of catches but you get the feeling the tight end had one eye on where he needed to get to for the 1st down. Pressure telling, possibly?
What a turnaround after the Bills were down 21-0. They take over with five minutes remaining.
TOUCHDOWN! Jaguars 48-20 Jets 13:40, 4th quarter
What a day for the Jags. Trev has 330 yards and five touchdown passes AND one rushing score.
TOUCHDOWN! Texans 33-20 Cardinals 8:44, 4th quarter
TOUCHDOWN! Patriots 31-35 Bills 6:40, 4th quarter
Bills get a huge let off after a pass interference call on 3rd down. A run from Cook then moves Buffalo to about the 10-yard line. Well placed to retake the lead. This is end-to-end stuff! On the next play he scampers through the middle and home. They have the lead again! “What a game!” says Iron Eagle. Not wrong, Iron. Not wrong.
PICK SIX! Bengals 0-24 Ravens 7:38, 4th quarter
Another absolute whooping continues. Just what the Dr ordered for Baltimore. A get right game and then some. Second pick six in as many games for Joe Burrow.
TOUCHDOWN! Jaguars 41-20 Jets 14:08, 4th quarter
Eagles 31-0 Raiders, final score
The ugliest of beatdowns is at an end but the box score still isn’t pretty for the Eagles. Their O-line just is not the same as last season. Saquon Barkley finishes 78yards on 22 carries and a score, 3.5 yards per carry is pretty meh.
TOUCHDOWN! Giants 14-29 Commanders 13:47, 4th quarter
TOUCHDOWN! Patriots 31-28 Bills 9:49, 4th quarter
One play, one score. The Patriots retake the lead in a blink of an eye. Unbelievable, Jeff.
It’s GOOD! Chiefs 13-16 Chargers 0:51, 3rd quarter
As it stands the Chiefs are going to be eliminated from the playoffs. Can you believe it?!
TOUCHDOWN! Patriots 24-28 Bills 10:03, 4th quarter
Buffalo have a Josh Allen rushing score chalked off for a hold but it matters very little. On the very next play Allen beats the zone defense with a deep pass to Knox. He waited an age in the pocket for the play to develop and it pays off big. What a comeback!!!
TOUCHDOWN! Bears 28-3 Browns 0:45, 3rd quarter
Patriots 24-21 Bills 10:31, 4th quarter
Massive 3rd down for Buffalo. Two yards to make at midfield. Allen takes the snap, swings one out right to Ty Johnson but he comes up a yard short. They are going for it on 4th. Allen drops back a mile and slings it deep. It’s picked! Or is it?! Khalil Shakir is blocked off by Jones. The refs rule it a catch for the offense as it was seen to be a tied catch. PI is also called giving the Bills the ball in the red zone. Dalton Kincaid makes a catch on the following play and the Bills need five yards to take the lead.
TOUCHDOWN! Texans 30-14 Cardinals 0:33, 4th quarter
The tight end extraordinaire bags a second score. Fantasy owners cackle with glee.
