Dogwoof Boards ‘The Cycle of Love,’ From ‘White Helmets’ Director, Executive Produced by Priyanka Chopra Jonas (EXCLUSIVE)
Documentary sales, distribution and production company Dogwoof has boarded international sales rights to “The Cycle of Love,” directed by Orlando von Einsiedel, who was Oscar nominated for “Virunga” and won an Oscar with “The White Helmets.” The film is executive produced by Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
The film team has released a new clip featuring the film’s subject, PK Mahanandia, as he pledges to make the journey of a lifetime (below).
The film follows the true story of PK, a 23-year-old street artist from India who sets off with a handful of paintbrushes and a second-hand bicycle on a 6,000-mile journey across Europe and Asia to find Lotta, the woman who captured his heart during her visit to India.
The film premiered at Telluride, where it received a standing ovations after every screening, and received an equally warm reception from critics, with one calling it “one of the most romantic documentaries in years,” and another commenting that it was “a moving and deeply romantic film about destiny, connection, and the journey that binds them.”
Dogwoof will host its market premiere at the upcoming European Film Market with an invite-only buyers’ screening on Valentine’s Day.
The film’s U.K. and Ireland theatrical release is planned for September, with a U.S. theatrical release anticipated to follow in Q3/Q4, including BAFTA- and AMPAS-qualifying runs.

“Working on ‘The Cycle of Love’ has been a dream, and I’ve smiled my way through the entire process,” said von Einsiedel. “It’s an honor to be able to share PK and Lotta’s deeply affecting story, and to have been able to do it in such a unique creative way. I’ve been wanting to make a film like this, that is unashamedly optimistic and brings feelings of joy and human connection, for a number of years now.
“The reaction to the film at film festivals has been quite overwhelming. In a world that can feel increasingly dark and divided, this film reminds us all that everyone, everywhere deserves love. And that love is the strongest force there is. Maybe this is why the film is speaking to people in such a powerful and undeniable way.”
Chopra Jonas added, “When I first came across this story, I was immediately drawn in. It’s one of those rare, almost unbelievable true stories that stays with you long after you hear it. Inspired by PK Mahanandia’s extraordinary journey across continents for love, the film is both a sweeping adventure and a deeply human story about resilience, hope, and the courage to follow your heart.

“Championing distinctive voices and stories that feel intimate yet universal has always been central to the work we choose to do, and we’re honored to help bring this epic love story to audiences around the world. At a time when stories rooted in truth and optimism feel especially meaningful, this film offers an invitation to escape, to connect, and to rediscover the joy of falling in love with cinema.”
The film is produced by Grain Media and Kalabati Pictures, in association with BD4, Tudip Entertainment and AMPL, Artemis Rising Foundation and Chopra Jonas’ Purple Pebble Pictures.
Dogwoof’s chief content officer Oli Harbottle said: “’The Cycle of Love’ is an incredibly special film, delivering an overwhelming message of love and connection that feels vital in these fractured times. It’s also an out-and-out theatrical movie, with the potential to play wide and to mainstream audiences, so we’re excited to partner with Grain Media, Kalabati Pictures, Purple Pebble and BD4 on ambitious rollout plans in the U.S. and internationally later this year.”
