Gwyneth Paltrow Gives Red Hot Stiletto Trend a Contrast Twist at Women in Entertainment Gala

Red heels have been everywhere this season, from Sydney Sweeney’s saturated suede knee-highs in SoHo to Beyoncé’s patent red platforms on the Las Vegas circuit — but Gwyneth Paltrow’s latest entry added something different to the run.

Paltrow arrived at The Hollywood Reporter’s annual Women in Entertainment Gala on Wednesday in Beverly Hills with a pointed take on the palette, grounding her look in a pair of scarlet stilettos built on a long, tapered point and a thin, high heel.

The pumps, cut in a smooth leather-like material, came with a clean upper, a medium-height vamp, and an extended toe that kept the silhouette sharp against the carpet.

Paltrow wore the heels with Goop’s Freya dress, a long-sleeve ivory tweed design cut with a subtle boat neckline and a straight skirt that opened into a center front slit.

Red heels have been showing up across celebrity looks lately, and Paltrow’s offered a different read on the color. Earlier in the week, Sydney Sweeney took the hue in a full monochrome direction with deep red suede knee-highs from Magda Butrym’s fall 2025 collection. Beyoncé pushed it toward high-shine volume in Las Vegas late last month, wearing patent platforms with a matching vinyl bodysuit at the Formula 1 Grand Prix. While both Sweeney and Beyoncé kept their looks red, Paltrow’s pumps stayed within the palette but kept the silhouette simple — a pointed toe, a thin heel and a single hit of color against an otherwise neutral look.

Paltrow has a storied shoe style history, but aside from this red hot moment, the actress and entrepreneur typically sticks to more neutral palettes. This fall alone, she’s worn black kitten heel slingbacks at the Michael Kors show during New York Fashion Week, green suede Proenza Schouler slingbacks on a commercial shoot, and Demna’s monogrammed Gucci boots at Milan Fashion Week.

Paltrow was honored with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award the annual Women in Entertainment Gala. The event also honored Jennifer Lopez with the Equity in Entertainment Award, presented by Kerry Washington, with speakers including Dakota Johnson, Goldie Hawn, Regina Hall and Rachel Sennott.
