HBO Changes the Names of 6 TV Channels as HBO2 Becomes HBO Hits and More

HBO is enacting more name changes, as the cabler has given a cosmetic makeover to six of its U.S. linear channels.

HBO2 will now be called HBO Hits. HBO Signature is now HBO Drama. HBO Zone will henceforth be known as HBO Movies.

Plus, Warner Bros. Discovery is reviving the Cinemax name. MoreMAX is now Cinemax Hits. ActionMAX will now be called Cinemax Action. And 5starMAX is renamed Cinemax Classics.

These updated names will be reflected on TV starting today, and they’ll also apply to the live in-app “channels” within HBO Max, which allows users on select plans to stream live HBO programming via simulcasts.
