The colors of the day were blue, pink, and white with pops of yellow and orange incorporated into the florals.

Alden envisioned a wedding that effortlessly blended relaxed coastal charm with refined elegance, combining sophisticated and traditional aesthetics. She wanted the celebration to feel warm, organic, and natural – with an atmosphere that radiated joy. It was important to her that the day reflect meaningful elements from both her and Walker’s lives, creating a deeply personal and unique experience. Kelsey Kelley of K.Kelley Designs beautifully translated Alden’s vision into reality through a thoughtfully crafted invitation suite and day-of details. Her artistry brought a cheerful, fun, and vibrant energy that perfectly complemented the venue and tied everything together in a cohesive and visually stunning way.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Alden and Walker are high school sweethearts who’ve been together since 11th grade. Over the years, their shared love for fitness and the outdoors has remained constant, so it felt perfectly on brand when Walker proposed during a run.

Alden recalls the story: “We were home for the weekend in the fall, visiting family, and had planned to go for a run that Saturday morning. I was actually the one who suggested it, so nothing felt out of the ordinary — I wasn’t suspecting a thing. We chose to run through a nearby park that winds through trails, swamps, and along the shoreline of a bay, with little secluded beaches tucked away. About two miles in, Walker suddenly veered off the trail and said he spotted a turtle he wanted to show me. I walked toward where he pointed, and when I turned around, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him.”

It was a quiet, sweet moment just the two of them as they were surrounded by nature. To make it even more meaningful, the proposal happened in the very same park where Alden’s parents got engaged over 30 years ago, adding another beautiful layer to the story.[/field]

Alden went into dress shopping with an open mind — she didn’t have a specific style in mind, but she was eager to try on a variety of silhouettes and let her instincts guide her. Even though she wanted to complete all of her appointments before making a final decision, one dress stood out. Unbeknownst to her, her mom felt the same way — but kept her thoughts to herself until the end. Over cocktails, her mom finally shared her opinion, and their conversation sealed the choice. The decision felt right, meaningful, and perfectly timed. The final choice was a stunning, fully lace gown by Monique Lhuillier with a detachable off-the-shoulder sleeve. Alden wore a shortened version of her mother’s wedding dress to exit the reception, which was sentimental and meaningful. Alden and her mom went to all the alterations together, and they shared that it was a fun process to bring her mom’s dress back to life and for Alden to wear it on her big day!

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Alden went with the traditional look of having her bridesmaids in matching dresses. Choosing one she thought would feel comfortable and flattering on all thirteen of them was a top priority! She ultimately chose a customizable design from LulaKate, which gave her the freedom to select the bodice, skirt style, fabric, and color — making the dresses both personal and cohesive with the feel of the wedding overall. She worked with Bella Bridesmaids to handle the ordering process, and they made everything incredibly seamless, helping bring her vision to life with ease.

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]To complement the bridesmaids’ look, Walker and his groomsmen wore classic black tie attire, creating a refined contrast that elevated the overall aesthetic of the day.

[section title=”The Details”]
[field title=”Food & Drink”]Alden and Walker are true foodies — one of their favorite pastimes is exploring new restaurants together in New York City! So, when it came to planning the wedding menu, they had a blast curating the perfect selection of hors d’oeuvres, dinner menus, and late-night bites. They drew inspiration from their Virginia roots, places they had traveled, and the fresh, coastal cuisine of Florida, ensuring the menu reflected both favorite foods and family traditions.

One special touch was a bite-sized sweet potato ham biscuit, a beloved hometown favorite from Virginia, which they worked with the chef at Gulf Stream Golf Club to serve as a passed hors d’oeuvre during cocktail hour. For the main course, Alden chose a filet topped with a blueberry gastrique, a meaningful tribute to one of her father’s signature recipes.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The vision was bright, cheerful, and full of life. When designing the floral arrangements, we took inspiration from the natural beauty of the beach and golf course where they tied the knot in Florida, incorporating shades of blues and greens that reflected the surrounding landscape. Alden also wanted the wedding to feel in harmony with the Mediterranean and Spanish-inspired architecture of the clubhouse, designed by Addison Mizner, where the reception was held. To complement the warmer tones in the club, we added pops of soft yellows, orange, peach, and blush, creating a vibrant and cohesive color palette that felt both fresh and timeless.

Alden and Walker’s rehearsal dinner was a charming garden party theme inspired by Mrs. Brown, who loves flowers and gardening. To reflect this, we incorporated terracotta potted herbs into the table design, nestling them between the spring-forward floral arrangements. This subtle yet meaningful detail brought a sense of warmth and familiarity to the evening, creating a garden-inspired atmosphere that felt both personal and inviting.

The rehearsal dinner was followed by a true Florida-themed welcome party! As the first event of the weekend for the majority of their guests, Alden and Walker wanted to create a quintessential Florida feel, welcoming their guests to the destination with bright greens and pinks, tropical flowers, and an outdoor landscape

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

We worked with Earth and Sugar for Alden and Walker’s wedding cake which was both an almond cake with lavender buttercream and a lemon cake with strawberry buttercream. The cake was designed to look like it was hand painted in a whimsical way to play on the wedding design’s fun and joyful feel.

Their ceremony followed the framework of an Episcopalian wedding, with special touches that reflected Alden’s Greek heritage. Alden walked down the aisle to a string trio playing Trumpet Voluntary. Alden and Walker danced a choreographed first dance to Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” played live by Hi-Definition Party Band. To kick off the party after Alden’s dance with her dad, Walker danced with his mom to Dancing In The Moonlight by King Harvest, first inviting their families to join, then all of their guests.

Growing up, Alden spent lots of time visiting her grandparents in Florida, and now her parents also cherish Gulf Stream and the club as a special part of their lives. Alden wanted to honor both her and Walker’s grandparents, who are no longer with them, and included thoughtful tributes to them throughout the wedding. During the ceremony, they reserved seats in the front row on both sides in loving memory of their grandparents. And as a heartfelt surprise during the reception, they gifted their parents embroidered napkins featuring their grandparents’ initials and a motif representing what was important to them, ensuring their presence was felt throughout the day in spirit.

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Her aunt, who is also her godmother, performed the crowning ceremony, a meaningful tradition in Greek weddings. During this ritual, two crowns are joined together by a ribbon to symbolize unity — a practice known as the Crowning of the Stefana. As the crowns were placed on their foreheads, Alden and Walker were symbolically crowned the King and Queen of their home, a role they would embrace with love and faith. What made this moment even more poignant was that the crowns used in their ceremony were the same ones that had blessed Alden’s grandparents’ marriage. It was a deeply moving and unforgettable moment that tied their love story to generations before them.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]

Alden and Walker had a large wedding party, and it was important to them that the entire group be seated together on their wedding night. They chose to place everyone at one long, statement head table with overhead floral arrangements that were unique to their table and a specially designed tablescape. It created a warm, intimate atmosphere, and sharing that special dinner made the evening even more meaningful.
