How to Make Variety a Preferred News Source on Google
If you want Variety’s insider coverage to lead your news feed, Google just made it simple. Thanks to the platform’s new Preferred Sources feature, you can prioritize Variety in your search results — so whenever a major entertainment news story breaks, our stories appear first.
Variety.com has ranked as the top entertainment business news site since June 2022. According to unique-visitor data from Comscore, the online home of the entertainment business magazine has reached a larger digital audience than consumer publications such as Vanity Fair and Entertainment Weekly for the past three years. In 2025, Variety’s traffic also surpassed that of all other trade news outlets, making it the most-read publication in its category.
