Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis Fight on Netflix Canceled
Netflix and fight promoter Most Valuable Promotions announced that the Jake Paul vs. Gervonta “Tank” Davis boxing match, originally scheduled for Friday, Nov. 14, will no longer be moving forward.
The event, which was to be held at Miami’s Kaseya Center, had been set to be livestreamed worldwide on Netflix. MVP said it was still planning to stage a headline fight for Jake Paul, the digital influencer turned pro boxer, sometime in 2025.
The announcement of the fight’s cancelation comes after Davis was sued last week in another alleged domestic incident. As reported by ESPN, Davis was accused by ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Representatives for Davis did not respond to a request for comment, per ESPN.
“Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly,” said Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, in a statement issued Monday. “While we will not be moving forward with this event, our plan still remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized. We thank Netflix, the Kaseya Center, and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for their partnership.”
In a statement released on Nov. 1, MVP said it had “immediately initiated an investigation upon learning of the civil lawsuit filed against Gervonta Davis in Miami-Dade County on October 30th, 2025. At this time, we are gathering information and reviewing the details to ensure any decision we make is thoroughly vetted. We unequivocally condemn any form of violence and are committed to handling this matter with diligence and respect for all involved.”
Fans who purchased tickets via Ticketmaster for the Paul vs. Davis event will get an automatic refund through their original point of purchase within 14-21 days, according to MVP.
