Jon Batiste Hits High Notes in Paul Smith Look While Performing the National Anthem at Super Bowl 2025 in New Orleans
On Sunday, Jon Batiste hit high notes on the Caesars Superdome field in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX. The Grammy Award-winning singer performed the National Anthem ahead of the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Batiste wore a look completely designed by Paul Smith. The “Freedom” singer donned the black Soho tailored-fit wool “A Suit To Travel In” look. The suit was paired with a black tailored-fit cotton “Artist Stripe” cuff shirt, for a wholly monochrome attire.

He completed the ensemble with black “Signature Stripe” central trim socks. Batiste wore black patent leather shoes with the look as well. For an added touch of bling to his attire, Batiste wore shimmering brooches on the lapel of his blazer.
Batiste’s Super Bowl LIX National Anthem performance ensemble was curated by stylist Jason Rembert. Rembert has worked with several A-list figures throughout awards season thus far, including “The Brutalist” Oscar nominee Adrien Brody.

Paul Smith recently unveiled his eponymous label’s men’s fall 2025 collection during Paris Fashion Week last January. “Smith sent out a stylish lineup of leather jackets and long coats in heritage fabrics that had been tossed in a tumble dryer for a ‘dry, scruffy, vintage’ feel,” Samantha Conti wrote in WWD’s review of the collection.
“He added skinny V-neck knits to the mix, too, a throwback to the days when he couldn’t afford to make them himself, and instead bought school uniform sweaters. He paired the V-necks with wide trousers, imagining how his photographer friends might have mixed it up.”

The Super Bowl LIX, the NFL’s championship game for the 2024 season, takes place on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. This marks the 11th time New Orleans has hosted the Super Bowl, tying with Miami for the most by any city. Kendrick Lamar is set to perform at the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show.
