‘Keep Quiet,’ Starring Lou Diamond Phillips, Boarded by Visit Films for Sales Before Locarno World Premiere (EXCLUSIVE)

LOCARNO, Switzerland — Visit Films, the prestigious New York-based sales agent, has come on board of “Keep Quiet,”directed by Vincent Grashaw (“Bang Bang”) and starring Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Lou Diamond Phillips (“La Bamba”).

Visit Films will launch sales around the Aug. 14 world premiere of “Keep Quiet” at the Locarno Film Festival where it weighs in as one of the Festival’s weightier commercial propositions.

Penned by Zach Montague, “Keep Quiet” follows a weathered tribal cop and his new trainee as they must find a ruthless fugitive, whose return to his rural Indigenous reservation has exposed its darkest secrets and could ignite a violent gang war.

The thriller also stars Nick Stahl (“Bully,” “In The Bedroom”), Dana Namerode (“The A-Frame”), Pawnee Nation member Elisha Pratt (“Killers of the Flower Moon”), Emmy-winner and Golden Globe nominee Irene Bedard (“Pochahontas”) and Lane Factor (“Reservation Dogs”).

Visit Films began working with Grashaw on “Bellflower,” his break out as a producer, selected for Sundance and SXSW.

“This film fits in perfectly with our current focus, strong commercial titles with a social and human focus. Lou Diamond Phillips delivers a commanding performance as a tribal cop, taking us inside the local politics of the police and the reservation that they seek to protect,” said Visit Films President Ryan Kampe.

‘Keep Quiet’ offers an unflinching look at street gang culture and the lasting traumas faced by Indigenous communities,” Grashaw added. “Written by an officer who had experience policing reservations, what struck me most was the resilience of the people and their complex bond with our protagonist, whose unorthodox methods are rooted in a deep personal struggle.” Grashaw went on to call Philipps “an absolute legend” and said that he believed Dana Namerode and Elisha Pratt deliver breakout performances.

“Keep Quiet” was filmed on the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribe reservations and surrounding small towns in Oklahoma. The film features a largely indigenous cast and crew.

It is produced by Ran Namerode and Angelia Adzic of Randomix Productions, Cole Payne of Traverse Media, and Grashaw himself. Phillips, Marcus Red Thunder, and Richard Janes serve as executive producers.

Starring Robert Patrick and Nick Stahl, Grashaw’s third feature, Southern Gothic horror tale “What Josiah Saw,” which bowed at 2021’s Fantasia, was released by Shudder and earned a 91% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, being named one of the Best Horror films of 2022.

“Bang Bang,” which also played Locarno, has just been picked up by Sunrise Films which will release it in the U.S. on Sept 12.

Grashaw is now in post-production on “Bruton,” a true prison story starring Theo Rossi, Aya Cash, Tammy Blanchard, and Tony Hale.
