‘Miraculous’ Producer Zag Taps Dwarf Animation Alum Rémi Guerin as Head of Studio

Zag, the creative force behind the smash hit animated franchise “Miraculous,” has tapped Rémi Guerin to the newly created role of head of studio.

Reporting to Ian Lambur, the EVP of series, Guerin will be based in Paris and will oversee Zag’s production pipeline, creative operations and talent management.

Prior to joining Zag, Guerin worked as head of content and studio manager at Dwarf Animation Studios. With over 20 years of experience spanning animation, comics and TV production, Guerin’s credits include the hit Netflix series “My Dad the Bounty Hunter” and “Alien Dunk,” an animated sci-fi comedy series (which Guerin co-created) with Victor Wembanyama, the star of the San Antonio Spurs.

Zag is boasting a packed slate of high-profile animated and live-action movies and series. These include the “Ghostforce” series; as well as the animated feature films “Melody,” starring Katy Perry; and “Carmen,” inspired by former Formula 1 driver Carmen Jorda.

“Rémi has a phenomenal track record and is wildly respected by our partners,” Lambur said. “His unique blend of creative passion and operational expertise is exactly what Zag needs as we enter our next phase of growth, and we are excited to have him leading our studio team.”

Guerin said, “Joining Zag is an incredible opportunity to work with one of the most innovative and ambitious teams in the industry.”

“I have long admired Jeremy’s vision and the studio’s ability to create worlds that resonate with millions of fans worldwide. I look forward to empowering our artists and storytellers to push the boundaries of what’s possible,” Guerin continued.

Also on the company’s roster is “Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir,” a blockbuster IP whose fan base stretches across more than 150 countries. A second “Miraculous” movie is being developed under Miraculous Corp., a joint venture formed in 2024 by Mediawan and Zag, with producer John Cohen (“Despicable Me,” “The Angry Birds Movie”) and writer Matt Roller (“Rick and Morty,” “Community”).
