Originally designed in 1996 as an ultra-lightweight hybrid runner inspired by Kenyan distance runners, the split-toe Nike Air Rift has transitioned into a high-fashion darling. Joining forces with Kim Kardashian’s viral bodywear empire for its Fall 2026 Edit 01 collection, the joint effort expands its footwear catalog with the NikeSKIMS Rift Mesh Cave Stone.

The NikeSKIMS Rift Mesh Cave Stone reinterprets the silhouette's distinctive split-toe framework through SKIMS’ signature earth-toned aesthetic really well. By replacing the shoe’s signature neoprene upper with a technical two-tone mesh, the design transforms the '90s cult runner into something much sleeker, perfectly in line with the signature SKIMS aesthetic.

Coated in a muted Cave Stone/Medium Ash palette, the beige-grey execution highlights the upper's organic lines, emphasized also by the shrinking of the sole unit.

Flexible, lightweight mesh wraps the upper, secured across the instep by a midfoot hook-and-loop strap. Subtle NikeSKIMS branding accents the tonal heel closure and footbed, while the split-toe forefoot offers a less subtle visual anchor.

A sculpted foam midsole provides plush yet super lightweight cushioning, supported by a durable rubber outsole with a modified tread pattern for traction. Really though, the sole unit is barely there, giving the NikeSKIMS Rift its streamlined finish.

The NikeSKIMS Rift Mesh Cave Stone is actually a triumph of minimalist design. The silhouette itself has been cleverly reduced to its essential parts, an exercise that’s underscored by this fall-ready neutral color palette.
