‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Season 3 Beams Up Digital Release Date
There’s a new transmission coming from Paramount: if you’re looking to add the latest season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds to your collection, you’re in luck. Season 3 of the acclaimed science fiction series is now available to own digitally, and it comes with a cargo bay full of special features and extras.
Strange New Worlds‘ digital release will include all ten episodes of Season 3, as well as over three hours of special features. That includes deleted and extended scenes, gag reels for the entire season and for the retro-styled episode “A Space Adventure Hour,” and four featurettes: “Exploring New Worlds,” “Virtual Visionaries,” “VFX Flights,” and “Personal Log: Melissa Navia.” If you prefer your media to be physical, Strange New Worlds Season 3 will also be available on DVD, Blu-ray, and a limited edition Blu-ray SteelBook in early 2026.
What Happens in Season 3 of ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’?
The season premiere finally resolved the long-dangling cliffhanger of the Season 2 finale, which pitted Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) and the Enterprise against an armada of belligerent Gorn aliens. While the Enterprise survived the encounter, Pike’s lover Marie Batel (Melanie Scrofano) was left infected with a Gorn embryo, requiring experimental medical procedures to survive. The Enterprise went on to encounter many new dangers, including Klingon zombies, godlike aliens, and a malfunctioning holodeck, but none more dangerous than the Vezda, an impossibly ancient and evil race that required one of our heroes to make the ultimate sacrifice.
Meanwhile, it also presented a momentous occasion in Trek history, as James T. Kirk (Paul Wesley) had his first taste of command, temporarily captaining the USS Farragut to aid the Enterprise against mysterious spaceborne scavengers. The ship’s web of relationships became even more complex, as Christine Chapel (Jess Bush) fell in love with archeologist Roger Korby (Cillian O’Sullivan), leaving Spock (Ethan Peck) to find solace in the arms of La’An Noonien-Singh (Christina Chong).
There’s more Strange New Worlds on the long-range scanners, but the end of the series is in sight. The series’ fourth season has been filmed, while a truncated fifth and final season is in production now. Neither season has set a release date yet, but Trek fans can look forward to the debut season of Starfleet Academy, which will premiere on Paramount+ on January 15, 2026.
