Suddenly, Every It Girl Is Wearing This Polished Pant Trend to the Airport Instead of Sweatpants

We’re approaching peak holiday travel season which means it’s time to think about what we’re wearing to the airport. An important element of good airport style, in this writer’s opinion, is having the freedom to do what you please post-plane ride. Loose, elastic waistband pants are more polished than a jogger while being just as comfortable, not to mention they’re the current IT girl pants of choice. They give you options, as in, you can go straight to a nice meal after landing without thinking twice about changing your outfit. This is the kind of easy-breezy traveler I’d like to be, at least.

It likely goes without saying that the most aspirational version of elastic waistband pants are The Row’s Gala Pants. With their billowy wide legs and made in a wearable crepe, they’re the epitome of casual, no-fuss style. Coming in at over a thousand dollars, fortunately, there’s no shortage of more affordable options. If you’re not a fan of a wide leg, straight and barrel leg styles look just as streamlined. Unlike sweatpants, the elastic waistband pants I speak of come in a variety of materials too, from jersey to crisp cotton.
