Suzanne Todd Signs First Look Deal With MGM Television (EXCLUSIVE)
Veteran producer Suzanne Todd, whose credits include the “Austin Powers,” “Alice in Wonderland” and “Bad Moms” franchises, has sealed a first-look TV deal with MGM Television. Under the deal, announced Wednesday, Todd will be tasked with developing and producing “premium, character-driven series” across drama, comedy, and limited-event formats.
“Suzanne is a visionary producer with a remarkable ability to blend heart, humor, and humanity,” said Lindsay Sloane, the head of scripted TV at MGM Television. “Her instinct for character-driven storytelling makes her an ideal creative partner as MGM continues to expand our slate of meaningful, emotionally resonant television.”
Under the deal, the focus will be for Todd to develop and produce new scripted television projects exclusively for MGM Television, which is a part of Amazon MGM Studios.
“I’m thrilled to join forces with MGM Television,” Todd said in a statement. “We share a passion for stories that connect—stories about complicated, compelling people navigating the world with authenticity and emotional truth. This partnership gives us the opportunity to build shows that not only entertain but resonate deeply with audiences.”
Todd’s most recent project was Disney’s “Descendants: The Rise of Red,” which just received 11 noms from the Children’s & Family Emmys, and hit it big with 6.7 million views in three days and 33 million views in 12 weeks.
Todd has been nominated for three Golden Globes and five Emmys, and her numerous projects have grossed a combined more than $3 billion worldwide. Working across film, television, and streaming, her other credits include “Memento,” “Across the Universe,” and “Must Love Dogs.” For years, Todd and her sister Jennifer Todd ran the Team Todd label.
She has worked as a producer for Disney, Sony, Revolution, Warner Bros., DreamWorks, New Line Cinema and Universal, among others. And Todd has also regularly contributed as a writer to various publications.
Next up for 2026, Todd has three new releases coming: “Spa Weekend,” with Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher, Michelle Buteau and Anna Faris; Disney’s “Descendants: Wicked Wonderland”; and Roxane Gay’s memoir “Hunger.”
