US: Wall Street hits all-time highs, Fed decision on tap

WalL Street’s main stock indexes hit record highs in the run-up to an interest-rate decision from the Federal Reserve on Thursday (Nov 7), extending a sharp rally sparked by Donald Trump’s stunning comeback as US president for a second time.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 11.0 points, or 0.03 per cent, at the open to 43,718.92. The S&P 500 rose 18.2 points, or 0.31 per cent, at the open to 5,947.21​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 101.0 points, or 0.53 per cent, to 19,084.428 at the opening bell. REUTERS
