The vibe for this wedding was a genteel Southern wedding, weaving in elements of the garden at The Farm at Old Edwards with the beauty of summertime in the Highlands. Our focus was on bringing the outdoors in with the blues and pinks so often seen at mountain sunsets and offering, as all Southerners do, refined and gracious hospitality.

As a nod to the couple’s southern roots, the guests were treated to delicious appetizer stations and passed appetizers. The culinary team delighted guests with an elevated pimento cheese and charcuterie display before guests were seated for a plated dinner focusing on the bride and groom’s favorite dishes. An extra special touch, aside from the delicious wedding cake, was a dessert of flambéed peaches with homemade butter pecan ice cream. Another sweet treat delighted guests-lemon cookies individually wrapped from a famous bakery in the bride’s hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee. The food and beverage team at Old Edwards exceeded our expectations with their talent, presentation, and dedication to excellent service.

Stephanie, our bride, was the epitome of a Southern Belle, so our vision was classic and timeless with an abundance of greenery and blooms, and a touch of whimsy. A blue butterfly appeared at their engagement, so we embraced that moment as a sign to incorporate butterflies throughout the paperie, beautifully designed by Little Postage House. An escort wall adorned with the couple’s duogram greeted guests with die-cut butterflies featuring each guest’s seating assignment upon their departure from the dreamiest ceremony. The tabletop design featured blue and white woven and textural linens, scalloped chargers, and a bespoke floral and butterfly vellum overlay menu card. The focal point of the reception was a stunning chandelier with bountiful blooms and draping greenery that was lush, organic, and a true feast for the eyes.

The couple chose June 28th, the bride’s parents’ wedding anniversary, as their special day. The couple surprised them with a small anniversary cake, as well as their original wedding topper. The Lees were overwhelmed and delighted by the remembrance.

Stephanie and Andrew wanted a reverent and faith-filled ceremony. The bride’s hometown minister officiated, and she carried her grandmother’s bible and her great-great-grandmother’s handkerchiefs with her bouquet.

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The bride is an avid Vols fan and the Groom adored his time at Auburn. The Rehearsal Dinner featured a Jordan–Hare Stadium replica groom’s cake and when the first notes of Rocky Top were played at the reception, the dance floor immediately filled with Vols fans. A true marriage of two SEC cultures! [/field]
