TV tonight: how did 9/11 affect the experience of being Muslim in Britain?

Being Muslim After 9/11

9pm, BBC Two
“There was a time, 25 years ago, when being a British Muslim was OK,” says journalist Mobeen Azhar. “We were on the cover of magazines, getting elected to parliament and even captained the England cricket team.” Then 9/11 happened. He and his film-making partner, Masood Khan, have made this documentary to explore how the terror attacks affected the Muslim community – including their own experiences – and why they still reverberate today. Hollie Richardson

Panorama: Roman Abramovich – How He Hid His Fortune

8pm, BBC One
New evidence from a data leak sees Panorama sift through hundreds of documents that may have been falsified to conceal the vast wealth of the ex-Chelsea owner and oligarch. Will it manage to set the news agenda like the accusations levelled against Man City’s owners did? Abramovich disputes the allegations and denies any wrongdoing. Alexi Duggins

Jamie’s 20 Minute Meals

8pm, Channel 4
The chef continues his real-time cookery class with a steak night dinner, complete with a shallot and brandy sauce and a serving of garlicky gnocchi chips. Then he puts together a crispy trout with green veggies and a tomato and tarragon salsa. Both are ready in 20 minutes. HR

Clickbait Clinic With Stacey Dooley

8.30pm, BBC One
Is there truth behind influencers’ claims that testosterone levels are at a historic low? T-maxxing is the next social media “wellness trend” investigated by Dooley. She meets men who believe that artificially increasing their levels will boost bone density, sex drive and muscle mass, before putting questions to the experts. HR

“I just don’t want to be the one to tell the aunt that her nephew wasn’t the boy she thought he was.” Charismatic duty solicitor Pierre (David Harewood) looks into the murder of his teen client Michael – and questions if he was wrong to believe he wanted to turn away from crime. It only makes him want to dig deeper for answers … HR

Michael Palin in the Philippines

9pm, Channel 5
Palin spends his third and final week on the southern island of Mindanao: a no-travel zone and the home of disgraced former president Rodrigo Duterte. In the city of Davao, the Monty Python star meets the DJ behind Budots, the perky song and twerking-like dance craze, improbably inspired by Duterte’s death squads who hunted for drug dealers. Killing Anna (Sam Benstead, 2026), 11.05pm, Channel 4
“I weaponise myself, my trauma.” Annsar Shahhoud, a Syria-born researcher in genocide studies at the University of Amsterdam, is the focus of this remarkable documentary. After being sent videos of massacres by the Assad regime, she set up a fake Facebook account (under the name of Anna Sh), befriended Syrian officials and militia, and got them to admit their role in the mass murders of civilians in Damascus. The toll on Shahhoud is clear, but so is her will to bring the truth to light. Simon Wardell
